These terms cover the rules that apply when you visit the serteser.com.tr website, use its content, and request Serteser Consulting services. By using the site, you are deemed to have accepted these terms.
1. Service Provider
Burak Serteser (Biomedical Engineer), under the name Serteser Consulting, provides academic biostatistics, systematic review, medical artificial intelligence study design, data engineering, and individual artificial intelligence mentoring services.
2. Content Copyright
- All text, images, code snippets, infographics, and templates on the site belong to Burak Serteser. They are protected under Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works.
- You may quote the content for personal or academic purposes; attribution (author name, article title, access date, URL) is mandatory when quoting.
- Written permission is required for commercial reproduction, publishing on another site, converting into course or training material, or using in artificial intelligence model training.
3. Informational Content Notice
- Blog articles and service descriptions are general information in nature; they do not substitute for consulting tailored to you for a specific academic study, clinical decision, or regulatory application.
- We recommend that you do not make decisions related to artificial intelligence, drugs, clinical procedures, or regulatory processes based solely on a blog article. A formal consulting relationship is established by contract.
- The site content does not include medical advice; you should consult the relevant physician or specialist regarding treatment, diagnosis, or drug dosage.
4. Consulting Relationship
- The consulting relationship begins with the scope being defined in writing (email confirmation or contract).
- The accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance of the data and content you share during the work process (for example, ethics committee approval, patient de-identification) are your responsibility.
- The statistical analysis, systematic review protocol, and AI study design provided are prepared in the manner most consistent with scientific method and current standards (ICMJE, PRISMA 2020, TRIPOD-AI, DECIDE-AI, etc.). Outcomes such as publication acceptance, grant success, or clinical impact cannot be guaranteed.
5. Academic Publication Ethics
- ICMJE Vancouver authorship criteria are followed. If the contribution provided does not meet the full authorship criteria, it is credited in the Acknowledgements section.
- Requests for multiple publications from the same data set (salami slicing) are evaluated from an ethical standpoint and rejected when necessary.
- Ghost-authorship, gift-authorship, and undeserved authorship requests are not accepted.
6. Fees and Payment
- Service fees are quoted according to the scope of work; the upfront fee is collected before work begins, and the remaining fee is collected as staged (milestone) payments.
- Invoices are issued in accordance with Turkish legislation via a self-employment receipt or e-invoice.
- Cancellation and refund conditions are separately regulated in the contract.
7. Third-Party Links
The external links on the site (for example, PROSPERO, Cochrane, journal sites) are for informational purposes. Serteser Consulting is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these sites.
8. Limitation of Liability
The site content is provided “as is.” No liability is accepted for direct or indirect damages arising from content errors, interruptions, data loss, or temporary inaccessibility of the page. Liability within the scope of the service relationship is always determined according to the relevant contract and applicable legislation.
9. Amendments
The terms may be updated over time. The current version is always published on this page; your continued use constitutes acceptance of the changes.
10. Competent Court
For disputes arising from these terms or the service relationship, the Istanbul (Caglayan) Courts and Enforcement Offices are competent. With respect to consumer transactions, your rights arising from Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection are reserved.
